Digital Publication Design 

Course Description and Purpose:  Digital Publication Design is a semester long, 90 minute daily class offered to students at BEHS.  This course combines the business world with graphic design and allows students to use their creativity to produce business and personal publications. Students create, format, illustrate, design, edit/revise, and print publications including newsletters, flyers, brochures, reports, advertising materials, catalogs, posters, and other publications. Students who excel have the opportunity to earn nationally recognized Adobe certification.  Successful completion of this course is equivalent to 1 unit credit unit as specified by the South Carolina Department of Education – Fundamentals of Computing (2018-2019) Course Code 5176 Curriculum Standards.

 

This class is also charged with designing and creating the annual yearbook from start to finish.  Students sell business ads to local businesses to offset the cost of yearbooks.  Coverage of sports, clubs and organizations, and other extra curricula activities are provided by students, staff, and friends.  Publications created in the Digital Publication Design class includes:  The Annual Yearbook, The Dragon (newsletter), Seniors Last Will and Testaments, and picture buttons to name a few. 

Yearbook
